The Assassin

PANACHE REPORT: This rapper grew up idolizing Italian gangsters. He loved watching mob movies and reading biographies on Al Capone and Lucky Luciano. He also loved the 'Scarface," film. This life attracted him from an early age. He decided, when he grew up, some kind of way, he was going to be a gangster and he wanted to work with the Italian, Russian and Armenian mobs. Apparently, his dream came true, although he didn't latch on with the Italians, Russians or Armenians still persist from a year ago, that this rapper started out as a freelance killer for black syndicates and drug gangs. Whenever there was any type of dispute, he was dispatched to kill. He was paid a large fee for his service. Although this life enthralled him, he enjoyed hip hop even more. He had a natural talent, met the right people and got a record deal. He no longer kills for a living. Another member of a famous rap crew is also suspected in two murders but due to insufficient evidence, the authorities can't touch him. Some of these rapper do 'live their lyrics.' Hint: The former "freelance" rapper is very popular.

This is a biggie. Possibilities: Beanie Sigel? and Freeway? Fat Joe? Pretty Ugly is a self-proclaimed 'freelance rapper'. Thoughts?

Back posting, sorry for the lack of updates recently (twas the result of being both behind with my 'real' work and a particularly nasty flu that just would not quit.) Thanks for all your comments! It's so cute you all missed BIC!

Here's one of the most juicy blinds I've seen in a while, from Lainey Gossip:

Wait, Is Alice Brady Timmy??

The CDAN boards are buzzing and Helena and Rossdboss may have struck blind item gold!

See - there are two pictures of "Alice Brady" online and they might show two different people.

This picture is the silent-film star whose father was a big name in showbusiness. Now, This picture is of the "Alice Brady" who starred with Cesar Romero (never married and no kids) in the movie "Metropolitan" before "her" Oscar win for "Old Chicago". She stopped making movies a few years after her win. Well, she died.

Alice Brady on IMDB does have a long career in silent film but there is a 10 year break between that and her short career in the 1930's, and I think Timmy either assumed the original Alice Brady's name and persona, or, far more likely, IMDB has simply fucked up like they do all the time, and the silent film work prior to 1923 could belong to the silent film actress Alice Brady and IMDB has placed both Alice Bradys bios under the same name.

And remember CDAN's hint "It's easy to make up biographies".

When she won a Best Supporting Actress award for In Old Chicago (1937) in 1937, she did not attend the ceremony. Instead, a man walked up and accepted the award on her behalf. After the show, neither he nor the Oscar were ever seen again. That is beyond weird!

P.S I don't think Kenny Baker is Timmy as some people on the CDAN boards are saying: he and Brady were in a film together in 1937.

The Actress Who was Really a Man

From CDAN: I don't remember the first time I met JJ. It just seemed like from the first day I started at my first position he was there. It seems like he has always said he is retired, but at the same time it seems like he always has a piece of every project. JJ is pushing 90 if he isn't there already. He started in the business when he was a kid doing gofer work and his career rise has matched the rise of films through their infancy all the way to the present day. He knows everyone and for those few people he doesn't know, they certainly know him....

....This past Sunday the conversation turned towards an event he had hinted at previously, but had never really finished the story and I took the opportunity this time to get the answers I wanted.

All I will say about these events are they happened within the past 50 years and only about ten people know the whole story.

Timmy was a gay man at a time when gay men were treated miserably, not only in Hollywood but in the rest of the country as well. Timmy's homosexuality was compounded by the fact that he was very slightly built, had very pale features and a skin condition that prevented much hair growth on his body.

What Timmy had going for him was a personality that wouldn't quit and a way of capturing an audience whether one person, five hundred or through film that was unlike anything most people had seen previously.

Timmy grew up in the Northeast in a small town where he really and truly didn't fit in. At some point he knew he wanted to be an actor and began performing in theatres across the country. He would stick in a city long enough to work in some plays and shows and then move on when he heard of another opportunity in a bigger town or for more money somewhere else. Each of these moves pushed him further and further west to his ultimate destination in Hollywood.

When he first arrived in LA, the studio system was still going strong and most performers were tied to a studio for many years. They would often work on several films simultaneously and often share accommodations with other performers of the same level who also worked at the same studio.

Timmy worked often, but nothing more than a few lines here or there and spent a great deal of time in the "chorus" sections of musicals which were still fairly popular. To supplement his income Timmy began performing in local theatre productions. One night the lead actress was unable to perform and there was no understudy. A sold out audience was going to be sent home unless something was done.

Enter Timmy. With the audience none the wiser, Timmy performed the entire two hour show as the lead actress and received a standing ovation. He was brilliant and there was even a review in the paper which talked about this understudy who was even better than the regular actress.

As good as Timmy was, it was only for one night, and he went back to his regular role the next night. Timmy was excited about the possibilities the night before had held though and the response he received was never far from his mind.

After another year working at the studio without getting much further than bit parts, Timmy decided to do something which would put him in the spotlight. When his studio contract ended he basically reversed his original trek to LA and began performing in small town theatres again, but this time as a woman.

Timmy traveled and did the theatre route for almost two years while building up a resume and a background for his new persona. When he finally felt as if he had it down, Timmy returned to Hollywood. This time as a woman.

From his very first screen test as a woman, Timmy was destined to become a star. Timmy was initially given meaty supporting roles and moved into an apartment with two other women who worked at the studio. One of those women was JJ's wife. There was just no way for Timmy to keep his masculinity a secret in such close quarters and so the two women became Timmy's confidantes and helped him whenever possible.

Over the next two years, Timmy worked steadily as a woman and kept getting better and better roles. He was very rarely the lead, but in memorable role he was cast as the lead opposite a very closeted A list at the time actor who also remained single for his entire life. The two began a relationship which was always kept quiet but lasted for many years.

Shortly after Timmy was cast as the lead, he was cast in another role which is the subject of the blind. Timmy was incredible in this role and whether his acting was as a result of his new found love or as a result of just the right part at the right time, Hollywood took notice and so did the critics. During award season, Timmy began winning regularly for his role. I want to make it perfectly clear that none of these organizations knew Timmy was actually a man when they were honoring him with awards as an actress.

This award season was a blessing because it honored Timmy for his work, but at the same time the increased publicity and probes into his background were causing a great deal of stress and Timmy began getting hives and breaking out as the stress of trying to maintain three different persona's. Timmy himself, Timmy the actress, and Timmy the gay man in a loving relationship with a closeted star.

When it came to the very big award, the one with all the television viewers, Timmy won again. There he was, the woman who was really a gay man was being honored for being the Best Supporting Actress/Best Actress of the year. Its up to you to figure out which of the two he won.

After the award season, Timmy thought the hives and his skin would go back to normal, but if anything they became worse. The severe outbreak he had been dealing with had altered his body to the point where it just wouldn't go back to normal.

At that time there was no CGI, and makeup could only do so much. Timmy the award winning actress was having trouble finding work because of his condition and so he saw his career slowly work its way back down the ladder over the course of three or four years.

Timmy considered trying to resume a film career as a man but the skin condition made that impossible because it would have been one hell of a coincidence that two people who looked remarkably alike had the same condition. What he could do though was return to the theatre, and he did so, as a man and worked as a man until his death from AIDS related complications.

Sunday after brunch I went to Blockbuster and I rented the award winning film, and even knowing what I knew, when I watched it Sunday night it was almost impossible to tell. If you watch it carefully there is one giveaway which is a scar. It's not a big scar, but its evident in photos of the male Timmy which you can still find online in old cast photos and in the female version of Timmy as she acts her way to one of the biggest awards in films.

Timmy as an actor and actress was in over 100 films and theatre productions from Topeka to Broadway, but this is about one role and one award.

UPDATE: (From CDAN)
#1 I meant to say the events happened within a 50 year time frame as opposed to happening within the past 50 years. To help you out more I will say that Timmy died between 1980-1985 so you need to go back 50 years from that date.

#2 Combined between Timmy AND his female persona they were in over 100 movies.

#3 It wasn't actually Blockbuster that I got the movie on Sunday. I said Blockbuster to just indicate that I rented the film at a video store. I actually went to a place that has older films, BUT, I didn't use their name more to protect my own identity for when this is solved/revealed because there aren't that many people renting this particular film.

#4 Remember that Timmy was under a great deal of pressure even back then about his biography as a woman. People wanted to know where she was from, etc. Timmy provided information and it wasn't as easy to check on stories and timelines for reporters then, and so whatever an actress said about their past was generally just accepted and is reflected on the "official" biography for Timmy as an actress. The story Timmy gave is the one still in use.

#5 Timmy had a relationship with the closeted A list actor, but it didn't continue until Timmy's death.

#6 The post was reposted on several sites and was guessed correctly on at least 3 of them. I won't say if anyone has guessed correctly on my site.

#8 Why does the date of death of the "actress" matter? If she is in fact even listed as deceased.

Methinks: Kay Kendall ???

In 1958 she won Best Actress for Les Girls at the Golden Globes, the same year the Globes were first time televised (i.e the blind's reference to lots of TV viewers?) Only two more films after Les Girls over the next few years, and she died in 1959 at the age of 32 of cancer (female persona killed off?).

Reference to born in a Northeast town - Timmy is from there, not Shimmy. Plus Kay is slight, tall, pale, and DOESN'T look like a man (the blind specifically states you simply couldn't tell she was a man, even the blog's writer couldn't when he knew who it was and re-watched the film.)

Re the latest hint: One of William Haines' closest friends was costume designer Orry-Kelly, who designed the costumes for Les Girls (Kay's award winning movie). If Haines and Timmy were friends, it would stand to reason that, as KK's costumer and Haines' close friend, Orry-Kelly would be "in on it".

Other possibilities: Alice Brady, Josephine Hull, Margaret Rutherford, Marie Dressler if slight is a red herring.

Update on My Blind Item #3

So arguably the juciest of my blind items, the one about the actress with the chromosonal abnormality, I cannot reveal because of legal issues rah rah rah. However, I can offer an interesting little update.

I was talking with a friend who also knows my source for that item (said source works at a hospital) and she reminded me of another thing the source had told her: There is ANOTHER famous actress who has this karyotype abnormality. I don't think the name would surprise you too much.

Also, as I said in the BI but some people got confused, it IS possible for people with karyotypes other than the usual female XX or male XY to fall pregnant. For instance, since genetic testing was instituted for women in the Olympic Games, a number of women have been disqualified as "not women," after winning. However, none of the disqualified women is a man; all have atypical karyotypes, and one gave birth to a healthy child after having been disqualified... Usually however, pregnancy in someone who is intersex in some way is highly unlikely, highly problematic, and unlikely to be carried full term.

The A-list Actor and the Tijuana Hooker-slash-Nanny

Feel like something spicy? Well this married/not married but definitely with a significant other (can't make it too easy) A-List film star with a movie in the yearly top ten 2 out of the last five years decided he wanted a little escort fun but didn't trust anyone in LA to keep quiet. So our brilliant actor takes a bus filled with similar minded men (like you can trust a bunch of drunk guys to keep a secret) down to Tijuana a few weeks ago. With a handful of Viagra and a wallet stuffed with cash our actor went to four different houses of ill repute where he sampled the local adult industry up close and personal. He threw around money like a drunken sailor on shore leave and got himself so hammered that he even ended up very briefly with a very convincing transsexual. One grope saw our actor running out of there in a hurry so I guess we know he's straight. He had such a good time with one of the ladies that he made a special trip back down to TJ just two days later with two of his new bus pals to spend time with her and is now working on a plan to move her up to LA so she can be there for him as needed.

UPDATE: Remember the TJ hooker blind item. No, not the William Shatner show. Although there really was nothing else on television those Saturday nights. Was it Saturday? Love Boat and Fantasy Island were Saturdays, and I know all three were on ABC. Anyway, our actor got his little vixen a work visa. Seems she is going to be a nanny for the actor and his lady. When you see the tabloid pics of the 20 year old Hispanic in the background with the kids you will have it solved.

UPDATE: July 9 2007: It turns out that our TJ hooker may be pregnant. Look for an adoption of a Hispanic child in about nine months from our celebrity couple as it seems that the wife knows about and is all for the relationship and impregnation.

The A-List Wife that Violated a Rule

So this A list couple has been divorced for some time now. Each have moved on as divorced couples tend to do. My five ex-wives are grateful everyday they don't have to see me and the monthly checks I'm forced to send them keep them in Laboutin's and me in a basement. Anyway, there really was no reason given for the divorce. Just one day it was over. Out of the blue so to speak. Turns out that perhaps the lady in all of this was not really quite the lady we all thought. It's not that her husband minded because he really didn't. The problem was that our wife wasn't as discreet as perhaps she should have been and a huge secret was about to be revealed which neither the husband or wife really wanted. Seems that maybe the other man in this wife's life was not just some random guy off the street, but someone much closer. Each had their own reasons for keeping everything a secret. The wife really was happy being married to the husband which is why there were very few fireworks and instead just a resigned disappointment that she wasn't going to get to stay. The wife violated a rule and has slowly been eliminated from any contact with the ex and the ex's family.

Methinks: Tom and Nicole! Divorced for some time, moved on, slowly been emiminated from contact with the ex and his family (she is now very rarely photographed with her own kids).  Sounds like Tom and Nicole to me - one day they were blissful and the next day it was over and Tom said "Nicole knew what she did..." Plus, rumour has it one of the reasons for the divorce was that she became pregnant by someone other than Tom, allegedly she was sleeping with Ewan during Moulin Rouge and got pregnant.

If you marry him it's for x number of years with a review at the end of the contract period. Penelope could not go for that. That's when they ended. Tom and Nicole had come to the end of their contract AND she had become pregnant (she later miscarried). He was quick to file because if he waited another one or two months then by California law she would have gotten 1/2 of everything. He also threatened her by basically saying "you'll never work in this town again". People were so peeved when they heard this that they went out their way to work with her. She won an Oscar and a couple of other awards, his career went nowhere.

Very Bad Things

From Crazy Days and Nights:

"I've heard this before, and allegedly Very Bad Things is loosely based on it to some extent. However, I always thought of it as a Hollywood legend until I recently met someone in the producer's family. When I say family, there is one widow and one child. No other family. None.

A fairly minor producer died within the past month or so. It wasn't really noteworthy for the most part, but there were three or four very happy actors to see him pass. All of the actors are aging, but not George Burns old or anything. In fact, they are still A list at least by reputation. Could they carry a movie OR television show on their own anymore? Probably not. Are they regularly in movies AND television? Yes. See, back in the day there was a party like you could only have in Hollywood's glory days. Martinis, cigars and lots of beautiful women. Well it turns out that one of the beautiful women didn't go home at the end of the night. There was some incident involving either five or six actors. Two have died. Not knowing what to do, these actors got a studio gofer, now our dead producer and told him to get rid of the body and not tell anyone about it or tell anyone where the body was buried. Throughout the remainder of the producer's life, these actors took care of him, but were always afraid he would spill the secret because he was the only one who knew where the body was buried. No body, no case. Now, they are just worried that something will show up in the estate sale and some person will stumble onto a letter or some other evidence hidden in a desk drawer which will come back to haunt them. Maybe that's why one of the actors offered to buy the house with everything in it at a price that is twice what the place is worth. Still waiting to see if it will be accepted, but there won't be an estate sale yet for sure. The actors think they are being careful and that their true motives are unknown. Not at all the case, but the producer's widow is happy to take their money and be done with it. One hint is they have all been in at least one western. Although it could be on television OR in a movie."

The Secret Life

From Crazy Days and Nights:
Aaaah. Summer time. Vacations, reunions, and visits to your real wife and child. Yes, that's right. So what happens when you are a struggling actor and move out to LA and leave the wife and child behind? No one really notices, because no one knows anything about you. Maybe after a few years you don't go back to your hometown all that much because you are moving up the career ladder. A few more years go by and now you are on the cusp of A list. You have it all. Films, some television, and magazine covers. Part of that list status is because you are single and hot. Find a woman in LA who completes the publicist's dream and even go through a wedding ceremony that doesn't mean anything because you never took out a license. Why? Because you are still married to the girl back home who you have been supporting along with your child and they have kept really quiet. Not completely quiet. Just really quiet. Your new B list television actress wife is in on the secret but she isn't as good as you in keeping secrets. Word starts to spread just a little. Now you are worried. What do you do? You head back to the hometown this summer to try and work out a deal with the wife and kid. We'll see.

The 'Razzi Who Witnessed an A-List Star Beating His Girlfriend

"So last week I think I promised to fill you all in on a story that a pap related to me because he wanted to know if he was legally obligated to do anything about what he had witnessed and his obligations should it occur again in the future..

Most of you readers are used to seeing the photos of celebs up close and personal that are taken from just a few feet away..However, you may have also seen photos, especially on the beaches that are taken from a much greater distance, and then there was a recent case involving Jennifer Aniston where topless photos of her on her deck were taken from over a quarter mile away..

There are some pap who follow their quarry all the time, but for much of the time they just stay close to certain places they know celebs tend to hang out, or they know will be coming to at some point in the day or night. However, the big money are for pics that are harder to come by and that is where you get the guys following you everywhere ot finding a place that overlooks your house and then waiting for hours and hours and sometimes even for days depending on how valuable the pic would be if taken.

The pap who came to my office is a follower..he goes for the big bucks and does not settle for anything less..He has become very good at tracking his quarry from a distance (some would say it has something to do with the device on their fav car he put there, but I digress..lol) He also has found a place also about a quarter mile away from a particular house which provides him an excellent view of about 30% of the house including some rooms of the house, and into them as well..

He came to me because on 3 or 4 occasions (definitely 3, and unsure of the 4th) he witnessed the current A list actor beating his girlfriend and has the pics to prove it. (they are grainy, but very clear what is going on) The first time it happened he was not prepared to take pics because he knew the object of his pics was not at the house and so he managed to only get a couple of pics which are useful only if looking at the others to put the first in context. After the fight, he waited for what he was sure would be an appearance by the police, but none ever came. This same scenario played out the other times as well.

He came to me because he wondered if he was under some obligation to report the beatings to the police. He did not want to alert the police because he did not want the subject to learn about the pap watching his house and thus tip-off what the real goal with the pics is/was. Also, the fights happened over a several week period and always in the same room of the house and so he was wondering if they could have learned of his presence and were staging the fights because they always did happen in the same room..To back this theory up he stated and as I viewed the pics, admitted it is hard to see if there are any bruises or marks on the woman. Most of the blows appeared to be of the open hand variety and therefore would maybe not leave a mark and also would not leave any evidence if the pap decided to call the cops on his own and they investigated. He has thought about calling the police as soon as he sees something but doubts they would be able to respond in time..The girlfriend rarely leaves the house which makes it tough to follow her and see if there are marks or to confront her..She is not really in the public eye and so sometimes that can be problematic as well..He hired an assistant to follow the girl if she does leave, but she does not seem to leave until at least two days after a fight which would bolster the theory that she has been hit.

He wants her to leave because he knows that when she is gone, then his payoff pics will happen..I will keep you updated on this story..of course it could break out into the open at anytime as well..too many people are being brought into the loop..of course the pap could be bought off also...remind me to tell you about some big payoffs in the past to keep things quiet.."

UPDATE! Dec 12 2006: The pap who was watching the house is STILL watching. As far as I know he has been there for over a month. He is waiting for one picture which will be worth about two years of taking regular pictures.

Methinks: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. The pap could have been waiting for a Suri pic or a pic of Tom and a guy and gets this picture of Tom, who's been openly crazy and slightly agressive (remember how hard he shook Oprah?) hitting Katie. Katie rarely leaves the house and never without a Scientology handler.

UPDATE! March 7th 2007
"Do you remember about the pap who was staking out a house looking for one special photo? Well there have been some developments. First, the boyfriend and girlfriend have married. I ran into the pap's assistant the other day and he said that about 5 or 6 weeks ago, the now wife left for a few days and the pap got the shot he wanted. It took him months of waiting but he got the money shot. He tried to sell it to a US magazine and they did not want to touch it. He then went to a UK magazine and they offered him a tremendous amount of money, but not the kind of money that makes up for months of waiting. So, using the UK offer as leverage he decided to offer the photo for sale to the husband. They have discussed a price but nothing finalized yet. If the sale does not go final, then UK it is."
